Life On Mars (USA)

In attempt to capitalize on the American appetite for good police drama and the British ability to get it right the first time, ABC has developed an Americanized version of Life On Mars. Premiering on ABC this fall the series features, Jason O'Mara as Detective Sam Tyler, Harvey Keitel as Lieutenant Gene Hunt, Gretchen Mol as Annie Norris, and Michael Imperioli as Detective Ray Carling.

William Gibson

William Gibson's first professional sale, The Gernsback Continuum recounts the tale of a freelance photographer who experiences an overlapping of realities after he is assigned to work on a project entitled "The Airstream Futuropolis: The Tomorrow That Never Was". The project is to explore a futuristic rendering of America as imagined from an Art Deco perspective of the 1920s and 30s that was common to the pulp magazines of the day. The photographer's immersion into this "alternate" America leads to some bleeding through of a world that might have been and threatens his sanity. Read More...

Timecrimes (2007)
Directed by Nacho Vigalondo

Timecrimes, aka Los Cronocrimenes, is a Spanish foreign film directed by Nacho Vigalondo that has played a number of festival circuits in 2007 and will be in very limited release in North America beginning on December 12, 2008.

A film that is said to cross several genres, horror, mystery and sci-fi, Timecrimes has been getting favourable buzz and has recently been optioned by United Artists for a remake with rumors of David Cronenberg being approached to direct. No definite word yet.

Idaho Transfer (1973)
Directed by Peter Fonda

Idaho Transfer, is Peter Fonda's directorial debut from 1973 that up until very recently was almost impossible to find. Now preserved on DVD, this low budget film with its no-name cast (with the exception of Keithe Carridine) features a team of young scientists that discover a form of time travel while experimenting with teleportation. Their time travel experiments are soon uncovered by the government and the reasearch projects investors who want the project shutdown, threating to strand the time travellers some 56 years in the future.
